Tea & Poetry: A Recipe for National Poetry Month

Recipe for a lovely Sunday afternoon. Take:

  • One beautiful space at MONDO-Summit
  • Four poets, all TWC instructors
Christina Kapp
Donna Baier Stein
Sondra Gash
Michelle Cameron
  • Fragrant loose-leaf teas served in exquisite china
  • Delicious bite-sized pastries

  • An attentive audience

Combine for a first hour of warm and wonderful words. Then:

  • Take a brief break.
  • Replenish tea cups and serve yourself one more morsel of deliciousness
  • Hand the podium over for an open mic with poets of all ages

  • Settle back to listen to more exquisite poetry

Stir into the day’s mix for as long as these new readers require.

Serves about 25 people, gathered to celebrate National Poetry Month with The Writers Circle.

The wonderful thing about an event like this one is all the people who came together to make it happen:

  • Our TWC interns, Cindy and Abbie, who ran the Open Mic
  • Jake Rosati, who took these beautiful images
  • And of course, both our audience and our Open Mic readers!

We thank you all – and hope to reprise this event again next Poetry Month!
